Embarking on the challenge of bringing Terry and Alex Piscitelli’s dream home to life in Brunswick Forest’s Cape Fear National neighborhood was a journey that defined Liberty Homes’ commitment to innovation and personalized craftsmanship. As the featured builder for November 2023, we at Liberty Homes take pride in the collaborative effort that resulted in a breathtaking home that exceeded all expectations.

When the Piscitellis approached us with the unique challenge of placing the garage at the rear due to the lot’s private alleyway, we saw an opportunity to turn constraints into creative solutions. Alex Piscitelli remarked, “Liberty allowed us to change many things,” a decision that ignited a collaborative spark and opened up a world of possibilities for their distinctive vision.

Not having a pre-designed plan for a rear-loaded lot, we took an unconventional approach. We flipped our award winning Copperwynd floor plan upside down and seamlessly integrated elements from our Palmetto and Duval plans. CeCee, a representative from Liberty Homes, reflects, “We learn a lot from the lots we’re dealt. It’s up to us to either run screaming off into the night or make it work.” The result was a harmonious design that maximized the scenic view from the front of the house.

Originating from New York, the Piscitellis had been residents of Brunswick Forest’s Shelmore neighborhood since 2016. Recognizing that their current home lacked certain features, they entrusted us with their vision, purchasing the lot in fall 2020. Construction began a year later, culminating in the completion of their dream home in December 2022.

As visitors step into the four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home, the double-height foyer with an 18-foot ceiling immediately captures attention. High ceilings extend to the great room and lanai, featuring white oak flooring throughout the first level. The carefully selected chandeliers in various rooms evoke an atmosphere of elegance.

The first level showcases a cast stone fireplace, two large wine coolers, and an Italian gas stove from Bertazzoni. The kitchen island, crafted from a single piece of granite sourced in Raleigh, stands as a testament to the Piscitellis’ meticulous attention to detail. The master bath features double sinks with a black forest granite vanity and a spacious shower adorned with marble-looking ceramic tile.

Upstairs, the home offers a breakfast bar, a media room, and a guest suite with a living area and full bathroom. The outdoor space is equally inviting, with a lanai featuring a cathedral tongue-and-groove ceiling leading to the pool deck. This area includes an outdoor kitchen, a dining table for twelve, a shower, and a powder room.

Terry emphasizes the seamless transition between the outdoor and indoor spaces, expressing gratitude to Liberty Homes for our role in bringing their unique vision to life. “Hats off to them for working with us in creating this unique home,” she says. The Piscitellis’ home stands as a testament to Liberty Homes’ commitment to turning challenges into opportunities, creating distinctive and personalized spaces that reflect the dreams of our clients.
